The Forest and the Ocean

by Lorian

my forests closed you in their cold embrace,
as you ran through the mist, dressed in bones and feathers,
it quenched your thirst for the unknown,
turning you into a will-o’-the-wisp, a dancing flame,
we drank emotions like fire swallows dry leaves,
the night stole your heart, sparkling with stars in your eyes.

my forests forgot your rivers and oceans,
crystal beaches - and the sand between your fingers,
that beckoned you back, drew you towards them,
your call of waves and winds.

my forests forgot your rivers and oceans,
crystal beaches - and the sand between your fingers,
that beckoned you back, drew you towards them,
your call of waves and winds.
